Zemlja

From her position as a Serbian artist in Belgium, Sanja Mitrović looks at the recent protests and civil unrest that have emerged in Serbia. Zemlja explores the physical and visual language of memory, mourning, resistance, and hope. Mitrović’s body and voice become carriers of the slogans she can no longer chant, of protests she follows from afar, of the country she continues to carry within.
