Under Your Spell
Four witch-like figures set off on a journey through a dark forest. They are armed with absurdity, risky intuition, and lucid dreams. There is an intoxicating, warm wind that makes the trees move like snakes. The forest transforms into a strange mirrored landscape that absorbs them, as if they had always been part of it. It is a place outside of time, where magic and logic meet and where the personal and the collective intertwine.
Under Your Spell is a playful and physical performance that invites the audience to discover the different layers of femininity and experience the power of imagination as a driving force for change. In their quest, the performers try to challenge the idea of ‘first seeing then believing’ by sometimes actively believing in something that they cannot (yet) see.
Under Your Spell is an ode to not knowing, to daring to doubt and exploring new paths. It is both an attempt to cast off the spell that holds us under its grip and a critical reflection on the spells that we cast upon ourselves.
