In Tand des Tijds, Tim Natens delves into the enduring impact of Belgium’s colonial history in Congo by stepping into the shoes of Gérard Soete, a Belgian police commissioner involved in the murder of Patrice Lumumba, who notoriously kept the Congolese prime minister’s teeth as a macabre souvenir.
