this page is not empty
it lies in wait for what is not yet named
for an encounter with no appointment
for a performer you are not acquainted with
for content that cannot wait
there is no room for plans here or for certainty
for the usual suspects … or maybe it’s precisely them
only a possibility
a blind date between you and whatever presents itself
you can leave
you can linger
we allow a space for something to emerge
As part of Antigone’s programming this season, we are deliberately creating blank spaces: open areas that are not fully filled in advance. These blank pages make room for the unexpected, for experimentation, and for encounters. That is why we are organizing BLIND STAGE evenings: blind dates between the audience and the creator—moments when the audience and the artist meet without any specific expectations.
This unconventional approach makes a clear statement: we are consciously choosing not to adhere strictly to the sector’s traditional planning requirements. Instead, we embrace risk and leave room for projects that require flexibility.
We don’t just program the usual suspects; we seek out unexpected voices and forms. In doing so, we challenge you—our audience—to remain curious and explore the unknown.
Just like a real date, this encounter may or may not be a match. That is precisely where the value of such a sanctuary within our programming lies: we create a dynamic context in which surprise, discovery, and artistic freedom take center stage.
Discover the blank space with us and book your blind date with theater.
