Hartelijke Plekken (welcoming places) helps bridge the gap between feeling excluded and feeling that you belong.  More than 350 local businesses open their doors to anyone who needs a little help. They offer a glass of water, a power outlet, a place to leave your backpack, and much more. 

Need someone to talk to? Want to warm up, enjoy a hot cup of coffee, or take part in a cultural activity? You're welcome. Because we all need a little help sometimes.

what is applaus?

Seven cultural organisations in Kortrijk — Wilde Westen, Antigone, BUDA, Abby, Texture, 1302 and Unie der Zorgelozen — have joined forces to create a cultural programme that is accessible to everyone. 

Through Hartelijke Plekken, we want to make culture more accessible and remove barriers to participation. This brochure, called Applaus, introduces one or two activities from each cultural organisation. In this way, we hope to make it easier for everyone to discover and enjoy culture, especially those who might otherwise face barriers to taking part.

what are 'uitgestelde tickets'?

As a Hartelijke Plek, Antigone offers you the opportunity to buy a ticket for someone else. By purchasing an Uitgesteld Ticket for €9, online, by phone or at our box office, you help make theatre accessible to someone who might otherwise not be able to afford a ticket. We'll make sure it reaches someone who can use it.
