Adem Ouhaibia

Adem Ouhaibia is a Brussels-based choreographer and dancer from Annaba, Algeria. After working with break dance and contemporary dance in Algeria, Adem studied contemporary dance in Brussels. In 2022, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. He is currently working on his master's degree in choreography at P.A.R.T.S.

In his work, Adem focuses on combining breakdance, hip-hop and contemporary dance. Within these creations, he uses the essence of minimalism, channelling his intention to create harmony in composition and flow. He draws inspiration from everyday gestures and poetry. In his work, he tries to create a communal space on the floor. There, creator, performer and audience meet, creating a shared landscape.

HAVOC

Antigone met Adem in HAVOC. In it, Haider Al Timimi takes a closer look at the power of disrupters. The raw explosive energy of hip-hop is the guiding principle here. With a cast of top-level b-boys and b-girls, Al Timimi uses dance and music to explore the disruptive and constructive power of chaos. To the tones of 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised' by protest poet Gil Scott-Heron, driven by anger and hope.
